- This species spans five continents, breeding in subarctic Siberia and Alaska, and migrating to wintering grounds in the southern USA, Central America, South America, Africa, and South Asia, including Nepal.
- In winter, Eurasian Whimbrels are typically found along coastlines, coastal wetlands, mangroves, marshes, and larger rivers.
